Building Fisherrow Brewery:

Thursday October 14th 1999

Today the firing tube went into the copper, a rather convoluted process which involved Keith welding inside the tank. The burner itself is shown in some of these pictures. The frame to hold the mash tun plates was begun. The double-walled construction of the vessel caused some problems - the heat generated by welding it would cause the air inside to expand, which would deform the part which Keith was trying to weld. A hole in the side, placed where it will eventually be covered, solved that one. In the evening, we all went to the Clockwork Beer Company - a brew pub in Glasgow. This was a social with the Edinburgh and South East Scotland branch of CAMRA and a good time was had by all!
