How to fall out with a friend.
Here are several options for people who are unhappy with Bank of
Scotland's decision to do business with Pat Robertson, the American
evangelist, right wing politician and general killjoy.
OPTION 1
Phone up Bank of Scotland and complain: 0131-442 7777. Ask for Gavin
Masterton. You can also contact your local Branch or write to: The
Governor and Company of the Bank of Scotland, The Mound, Edinburgh. EH1
1YZ. Tell them that you are considering withdrawing your business.
OPTION 2
If you bank with Sainsbury's Bank (which is a joint venture with Bank of
Scotland) ring up their HQ on 0171-695 6000.
OPTION 3
If you have a credit card issued by Bank of Scotland, and this includes
many cards which are branded with the names of other organisations, you
can phone them to complain on Dunfermline (01383) 628444.
OPTION 4
If you are an impecunious person, you may wish to use one of the following
FREEPHONE numbers to contact Bank of Scotland: 0500 313111 (a very useful
and helpful general enquiries number) or 0800 435214 (which can provide
details of Bank of Scotland Freeway - a motor vehicle contract purchase
scheme). Please note that telephone calls may be recorded for security
purposes and may be monitored under the Bank's Quality Control procedures.
OPTION 5
The Bank will be most unhappy if anybody writes "A Friend for
Bigots" on
its bank notes as they will have to be replaced when they get back to the
Bank. And think of all the people who will see them!
OPTION 6
Please don't apply for lots of Bank of Scotland services using their handy
reply paid cards and, when it comes to the details, your imagination. It
costs the Bank money to process these frivolous applications.
OPTION 7
Go to the useful
response form on Bank of Scotland's new Web Site.
